Skittles - Chocolate Mix
Enchanted by the promise of a S’mores-flavored skittle, I bought one of the latest Skittles creations – Chocolate Mix. Visually, it’s hard to tell between the different flavors – blink and you’ll mistake the Chocolate Pudding for the Brownie Batter. However, the collection has its moments.
In 1998, Chocolate Skittles were released and later discontinued in 2001. They contained Milk Chocolate, Wild Chocolate (wonder what that was), Hot Chocolate (sounds interesting), Nutty Chocolate, and Mocha Chocolate (hmmm). Personally, I wished I had paid attention when these were available.
Looking back at the Skittles family in 1982, I would have loved being in Europe when they let loose Liquorice Skittles – a now discontinued product that once offered Black, Aniseed, Spice, Vanilla, and Mint Liquorice flavors. While we’re on the subject of liquorice-flavored candy – I sure miss Pearson Liquorice Nips (Nestle).
My assessments for the Skittles Chocolate Mix are listed below and maybe true chocolate lovers will differ in opinion, but I think I’ll stick with the fruity flavors.
S’mores – disappointing
Vanilla – pleasant
Chocolate Caramel – sweet in taste
Chocolate Pudding – chocolatety
Brownie Batter – deep chocolatety
