If it wasn’t for a free sampling campaign, I would have never tried the Aussie line of hair care products. I’ve been a diehard user of Garnier Fructis, and thought nothing would compare. I’m also reluctant to try new hair products because I don’t want to experience any adverse effects. Before we get started on how Aussie Aussome Volume products worked for me, please note my hair profile: lots of hair yet thin, curly, long, frizzy, and with split ends.
Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and Conditioner
One of the first things I noticed before even opening the bottle was the sweetly clean scent of the product. I feel that the shampoo was especially thicker than other shampoos, and worked up an impressive lather in the hair. Although the product is meant to provide 24 hours of volume, the results wound up lasting much longer for me, but the product had me a bit skeptical at first.
Day 1: Stringy…where are my curls?
After the first wash, I did NOT like what it did to my hair. After air-drying my curls, my hair looked stringy, big, and “out of control” (as my Mom put it). The picture above is when my hair was still drying.
Day 2: Curls were well-defined, shiny and soft.
However, the next day…when I woke up…my curls were luscious, well-defined, shiny and soft. My hair looked healthy and full. My Mom noticed it right away – she said my hair looked ‘sexy’ and out of all the products I’ve dabbled with over the years, I’ve never heard that adjective before. I agreed.
Day 4: I really like what Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and Conditioner did to my hair, and I enjoyed about four days of lusciousness until the results truly wore off.
It wasn’t until Day 5 of my first use of the shampoo (and Aussie conditioner) that my hair started to show the signs of unruly frizziness. So, for me, one wash provided roughly five days of volumized, smooth results. I was literally wetting my hair and leaving the house with noticeably full, healthy-looking hair – using no extra product except for whatever was left over from the leave-in conditioner and 24-hour hair spray from Day 2.
Aussie Mega Hair Spray
Before trying out Aussie Mega Hair Spray, I hadn’t used hair spray in nearly 20 years. All at once, memories of hair-dos that really stayed in place came flooding back. Aussie’s hair spray was strong and long-lasting, yet lightweight. To touch, I did not feel like my hair was overly stiff. My curls still looked full of life. I also like the initial scent of the product, which did not remind me throughout the day that I had used hairspray. I plan on using this product for when I really need to keep my hair in place…like on a windy day or special occasion.
I am definitely purchasing the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and Conditioner combo once I run out. I love what it does to my hair. Sexy, volumized, defined curls.
I don’t think my photos truly captured the volume and results to the fullest extent, but I still think you get the picture.

Disclosure: I received free products to sample and share my opinions. I was not obligated to write a blog post, but I chose to because I really love what this product line does for my hair.
