Influenster is a company that connects consumers with complimentary products by way of themed boxes, and I was chosen to review their Rosy VoxBox, which featured brands such as Purell, Not Your Mother’s, Secret, Fancy Feet, and Vera Wang. Below are my thoughts regarding the products that came in the box:
Purell Naturals Advanced Hand Sanitizer
Made with essential oils and skin conditioners, Purell Naturals hand sanitizer is comprised of a plant based alcohol, earning the designation of being a USDA Certified Biobased Product. The product is naturally fragranced and I think the light, pleasant scent is less offensive to the nose than other options.
As a dog owner, I found this product especially helpful, and have written more about this product here.
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray
This Not Your Mother’s hair product is comprised of a combination of sea salt, aloe and sea kelp, which is meant to produce soft waves and texture. You are supposed to mist generously on damp or dry hair. At first sniff, I really liked the tropical banana scent…it’s sweet and tropical…but when I applied it to my hair, that same scent became nauseatingly strong. It kind of gave me a headache.
Overall, I am not a fan of this particular product. I do not like the way it makes my hair feel – sticky, dry, and grimy. It drove me so crazy, so much so that I had to re-dampen my curls and add Garnier Fructis leave-in conditioner to it…and the result made me much happier. A toned-down version of the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe spray tropical banana scent lingered in my hair for two days.
Fancy Feet Ball of Foot Cushions
I have never used a product like this before; the thought never crossed my mind that this was something that I could benefit from. Ideal for boots, wedges, sandals and heels, the Fancy Feet shoe cushions are made to deliver a more stable, shock-absorbed stride. I tried them in my boots, and they felt good. I like the cushioning. As of right now, I’m not completely sold on purchasing something like this for myself, but they definitely make the inside of a shoe more comfortable.
Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant – Completely Clean
I prefer invisible solid deodorant over clear sticks, so I was happy that the Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant that I received has that powdery dry feel to it. Clinical strength deodorant provides 48 hours odor protection. I really, really, really like the refreshing ‘Completely Clean’ scent, and enjoy smelling it while I’m working out on the elliptical. Interestingly, the product is made to work with your body’s natural temperature and activate at night.
Vera Wang Embrace Perfume
The Rosy VoxBox contained two vials of Vera Wang Embrace perfume with a floral scent:
- Marigold and Gardenia – Described as ‘fruity floral,’ I feel that the scent of gardenia speaks to me here. It’s a feminine scent that is perfect for the spring season.
- Rose Buds and Vanilla – Although I love sniffing roses, I have never liked rose as a scent in bath and beauty products. The Vera Wang Embrace perfume has a strong, rose petal scent described as ‘floral oriental.’ I personally don’t like it, but if you like rose-scented perfume, you will.
Overall, the Rosy VoxBox provided a nice collection of products that helped me bring in spring.
Disclosure: I received the above products for free from Influenster in exchange for sharing my honest opinions, which I do all the time!
