The sequel for The Blair Witch Project has been announced and screened at San Diego Comic-Con, and fans who have been waiting seventeen years for one that stays in the same vein as the original are probably jumping for joy. As for me, I have to laugh to myself because this was one of the first movies that my sweetie and I went to the theater to see together as a new couple.
I now refer to The Blair Witch Project as one of the grandest cinema schemes I ever came across because the extreme hype for the film far surpassed any enjoyment we experienced. Marketing for that movie was excellent…I just wished my level of satisfaction matched it. For some reason, we were under the impression that the Blair Witch Project was not a complete “documentary,” which is one of the aspects of the movie that fans love so much.
As I look back at it, I can’t believe we didn’t walk out, but I remember insisting to him that ‘something’ was going to happen, and so, we waited…and waited…and waited…and by the end of the movie, we were both at a loss for patience and time. Not our type of movie.
I’m not going to lie, I held a grudge against the Blair Witch Project for a while because that flick is the reason why I couldn’t pick out movie night for a long time. Anyways, the new sequel, ‘Blair Witch,’ will hit theaters on September 16.
