Milk is not everyone’s best friend, and sometimes, you need to find beverage alternatives for certain dietary restrictions or health/lifestyle changes. I fall into the category of trying to find different ways to lead a healthier lifestyle without skimping on flavor or my level of satisfaction. I’m a fan of Silk’s sugar-free, vanilla almond milk because it’s packed with calcium and I can make a healthier, low-calorie hot cocoa without feeling robbed of tastiness. So, I was excited to try out Nutchello Rich Dark Chocolate + Walnuts nut-based beverage.
The main ingredient of this low-fat beverage is nutmilk (made with filtered water, walnuts and almonds). I think Silk Nutchello Rich Dark Chocolate + Walnuts is good to buy for its taste. It kind of has a liquid brownie kind of flavor to it.
I also classify Nutchello as a “beverage with benefits.” You get as much calcium as a glass of milk (30% of your recommended daily value – RDV), as well as 20% vitamin D, 30% riboflavin, 20% vitamin B12, 10% iron, 8% of vitamin A and iron.
One cup of Nutchello is 90 calories, and also contains 1 gram of fiber and 1 gram of protein.
Nutchello is made without dairy, no artificial flavors or colors, and no high-fructose corn syrup.
I think this beverage tastes good on its own. I also look forward to blending it with other ingredients to make a smoothie or protein drink. If you like chocolate flavored drinks and want to sneak in a little healthiness to boot, I recommend giving Silk Nutchello Rich Dark Chocolate + Walnuts a try.
In the Nutchello line, you will also find Caramel Almonds + Cashews and Toasted Coconut + Cashews. I’m curious about the Caramel Almonds option…I may have to pick that up the next time I’m at the grocery store. And, if you visit the Silk’s page for Nutchello on their website, there is currently a 75 cent-off coupon waiting for you.
Disclosure: I received a free product coupon so that I could facilitate a review; my opinions are 100% my own.
