SweetLeaf Sweetener

How ironic. I receive a comment about SweetLeaf sweetener on my Truvia review and the very next day, samples of Sweetleaf are found in my mailbox – packaged in a nifty green (my favorite color) carrying case. According to the product insert, Sweetleaf is the only 100% all-natural stevia sweetener, containing no alcohols, additives, or chemicals.
Calorie-free Sweetleaf offers sweetness comparable to two teaspoons of sugar. Of course, you can use more or less to meet your personal needs. Only two ingredients are listed for the natural sugar substitute: Stevia leaf extract and inulin soluble fiber. So, how does it taste?
I really wanted to like Sweetleaf, especially since my samples were impressively packaged, but a quick taste test of the powdery substance reveals a chemical-like aftertaste. In coffee, it was lackluster. I still prefer the taste of Truvia.
Other SweetLeaf sweetener reviews:
A Yay: This Splenda user gave Sweetleaf a thumbs up on taste, but a thumbs down on price.
A Nay: When comparing Sweetleaf to Splenda, a reviewer reports a peculiar and not particularly pleasant after-taste in my mouth.

I use SweetLeaf and am satisfied with its purity and taste–I don’t think it’s meant to be tasted straight from the packet, but meant to be put in something. I use it in baking along with my vanilla creme flavored stevia. Personally, I love that it is the only stevia product with all three 0 calorie, 0 carb, and a 0 glycemic index properties!
Anywho, enjoy your Truvia!
