The ecoalva mini notebook has a bamboo exterior that contains 100% recycled paper and a matching bamboo pen that slips into a small side-loop for safe-keeping. One of the first things I noticed with the bamboo notebook and pen set was how attractive it looked. Not only is it eye-catching, but the hard bamboo also acts as a protectant for your notebook paper… and you don’t have to worry about rips, tears and wrinkles in the paper. An elastic band attached to the back of the notebook fits over everything to keep your notes secure. Overall, the lightweight notebook is quite stylish with its combination of bamboo and silver metal accents.
Inside, the notebook is filled with 80 pages of lined brownish-colored paper bearing a small recycled symbol on the lower right corner. I think it gives my writing a kind of ‘vintage’ feel. One thing that I wished was that the pen wrote darker…writing seems to fade into the background. This might be a downside to having brownish-colored paper because I tested the pen on white paper, and it wrote much darker.
Another plus about this eco-friendly notebook is that I can see a few possibilities on how to further use and upcycle it if I wish– such as making it into a small clipboard.
